Spal's coach Leonardo Semplici spoke in his post-match press conference following the 2-1 away win against Atalanta.
“We certainly needed a game like this against a great team like Atalanta. We’d already done well last week in Florence and absolutely did not deserve to lose then, so we feel as if we’ve recovered something tonight. The first half of the season had a lot of mistakes, we knew it was going to be tough and we didn’t give the fans what they were looking for, but we hope to turn it around. We had so many difficulties, from injuries to errors, but we never lost our confidence and I must thank these lads for giving their all in every game. I always said we have the quality to emerge from this situation.”
