During a recent interview withNissan, Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero confessed which three opposing players have been the most challenging he's come up againstduring his career.

The 28-year-old has played in La Liga and the Premier League for Atletico Madrid and City respectively, as well the World Cup for Argentina, which will have pitted him against a number of world class players.

Aguero has competed against the likes of World Cup winners Fabio Cannavaro and Carles Puyol during his time with Atletico, but neither of these defenders feature on the forwards three-man shortlist.

However, there is room for two players who have donned the famous Real Madrid jersey and an ex-England international who is the captain of one of the teams leading the race for the Premier League trophy in 2016/17.

The City talisman named Madrid defender Sergio Ramos, Porto keeper Iker Casillas, and Chelsea captain John Terry as the three toughest opponents he's faced.

He said:Nowadays it's difficult to choose! The most difficult I've faced would be (Sergio) Ramos, another one would be (John) Terry, and I can also name a goalkeeper, (Iker) Casillas.

Ramos is viewed as one of the finest centre-backs in world football, with a number of honours to his name including the Champions League (twice), a La Liga title, and the FIFA World Cup. Aguero may yet face the Spaniard this season with City and Real Madrid potentially meeting in the later stages of the Champions League.

While Casillas is regarded as a legendary goalkeeper, having been capped 167 times for Spain's national team, which is a European record. The keeper frustrated Aguero many times during their tussles in the Madrid derby with his ability to pull off the most unexpected saves.

Although Terry has struggled for game time this season, there's no doubting his credentialsas a tough-tackling centre-half. The Chelsea veteran has won four Premier League titles, five FA Cups and the Champions League in 2012. Aguero has faced the former England international on countless occasions in fiery clashes between City and Chelsea.

Aguero also named Barcelona duo and international teammates Lionel Messi and Javier Mascherano as the most exciting player's he's played with, as well as fellow City player David Silva.

He added, "Well, the three players¦obviously (Lionel) Messi. And the other, because I play with him and we get along well and understand each other very well, (David) Silva. The third one who excites me the most, in terms of the effort he puts in from the very moment he gets his feet on the pitch until the end, would be (Javier) Mascherano.
