Serie A NAPOLI: ANCELOTTI PRESS CONFERENCE
Carlo Ancelotti praised the quality of his squad and the spirit within the camp after Napoli beat Carpi 5-1 in their second pre-season friendly on Sunday night.
Allan and Roberto Inglese were on target for the Azzurri in the opening period before substitutes Lorenzo Insigne, Jose Callejon and Vinicius Morais completed the scoring after the break.
"There's plenty of quality in this team, but we knew that already,” the coach began after the final whistle. “What I really like about these lads is their spirit – they work hard and have fun too.
"I saw lots of positives out there. You can underestimate games sometimes but they were really up for it today and looked determined until the end.”
Five goals is good return, even if it was only a friendly, and the boss still has Arek Milik and Dries Mertens to factor into the equation following their World Cup involvement.
“We have an abundance of riches and some great players up front,” Ancelotti continued.
“I'm very happy with the lads. They make my job easy and that's a great thing for a team to have.”
