Sevilla sports chief Oscar Arias insists they control the destiny of Steven N'Zonzi.
The midfielder has been linked with Arsenal and Liverpool this week.
"Departures or other decisions don't concern him, as it is something that Sevilla has to decide," Arias said.
"Today N'Zonzi is part of the team, but within a month I don't even know if I am going to be [part of it].
"We have been surprised by his statements because he is a very important player for us.
"He has been a fundamental player these years for the team but now he doesn't fit with the coach's ideas."
