Captain for the Black Stars B team of Ghana, Shafiu Mumuni has been awarded with the ‘golden boot’ accolade at the 2019 WAFU cup of Nations tournament.
The Ashanti Gold forward was outstanding for Ghana throughout the tournament and managed to bag a total of four goals.
His first goal came in the side’s second match when they faced Burkina Faso. His header restored parity for Ghana before they eventually won on penalties.
The striker went on to bag a sensational hat-trick in the semi-finals to inspire the Black Stars B team to a 3-1 win against Cote d'Ivoire which in turn sent them to the finals.
Though he missed out on winning the trophy with Ghana at the end of the tournament, he finishes as the top scorer and has been handed the golden boot award.
