Executive Chairman of Hearts of Oak, Togbe Afede XIV has defended the much criticized Alhaji Akanbi and Vincent Odotei claiming they know all the rules about football and saved the club from suffering GFA sanctions.

The two club administrators, who have been at Hearts for more than 10 years, have recently come under immense pressure from supporters calling for them to step down from the club.

Odotei and Akanbi have been blamed for the team’s woes after they exited the CAF Confederation Cup.

Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, Togbe Afede XIV said, "These people will sit down here negotiating with players from morning till night."

"They are there during pre-season briefings, defending Hearts of Oak as much as they can. And, between the two of them they know all the rules governing football."

He added, "They’ve saved us on many occasions from suffering fines through their vigilance. I can continue talking to these people for the whole day."

"I have enjoyed working with them because they bring the three things I want to see in any colleague worker."
