Sporting Lisbon open to a loan move for Ghana youngster Abdul Fatawu Issahaku this summer

Ghana international, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku will be closely monitored by his club, Sporting Lisbon during the 2023 CAF U23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

Officials of his club in the summer transfer window will consider sending him out on a loan spell to help with his development.

Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, 19, joined Sporting Lisbon last year in a deal from Ghana Premier League side Dreams Football Club.

Although he was signed with a lot of expectations, the forward has not quite managed to break into the first team.

He only played 118 minutes for Sporting Lisbon's first team and made a name for himself in the youth team of the Portuguese club.

He is now said to be the transfer target of a number of clubs in Europe.

A permanent move will however be impossible in the summer window if he excels at the U23 AFCON.

Whiles he is not currently in the plans of Sporting manager Rúben Amorim, a loan move may be ideal.
