Sporting Lisbon winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku set sights on 2022 World Cup

Sporting Lisbon winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has set sights on representing Ghana at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The Ghanaian youngster, who joined the Portuguese side on Wednesday from Tamale-based Steadfast FC on a five-year contract featured in Black Stars' final World Cup play-offs against Nigeria.

Issahaku, 18, is now hoping that his move will help him cement a place in the Ghana squad for the World Cup in Qatar later this year.

"The World Cup is every footballer's dream," he said.

"The World Cup is a very big thing and everyone dreams of it. I can't wait to be there."

"It would be fantastic. I've already talked to them (team-mates about Ghana versus Portugal game at the World Cup) and it has everything to be a good game."

Ghana will be making their fourth appearance at the tournament in Qatar this November.

The Black Stars will square off against two-time Champions Uruguay, former European Champions Portugal, and Asian giants Korea Republic in Group H.
