German-born Ghanaian defender has extended his contract with German Bundesliga 3 side FC Erzgebirge Aue for one year.

The 27-year-old was born in Münster to a German mother and a Ghanaian father.

Prior to developing pubic arthritis over the winter break, Nkansah, who moved from Zwickau to Aue before the season, was a crucial player and started 15 times in the first 17 games.

He has not been utilized since that time. However, those in charge remain persuaded by the 127-time third division player and have now decided to extend the contract for an additional year with the defender.

"When he was on the pitch, he was an important factor. We believe that he will remain so," said sporting director Mattias Heidrich.

Nkansah started his youth career with FC Bavaria Wörth, 1899 Hoffenheim, and Borussia Mönchengladbach. He made 59 appearances and scored four goals at FSV Zwickau from 2020 to 2022 before moving to FC Erzgebirge Aue.
