Stoke City defender Geoff Cameron believes thatpatience should be exercised in relationto his USA international teammate Christian Pulisic, given his rapid development in recent years,ESPN FCreports.
The Borussia Dortmund prodigy, 17, was involved in the USA's Copa America campaign this summer after breaking into the Dortmund first team last season and scoring two goals in the Bundesliga.
His rapid rise has seen him linked with a move to the Premier League, with reports suggesting Liverpool were keen on bringing the teenager to Anfield this summer.
Though Cameron believes the youngster has a "fantastic" future ahead of him, the 31-year-old believes he should be slowly eased into the rigours of first team football for both club and country.
"You can see the talent that he has, but it's got to be a slow process," Cameron told reporters.
"He's learning that in Dortmund, where he's fighting for a spot to get in the 18 with a lot of good players in front of him. It's the same here."
Pulisic joined Dortmund back in January 2015 from the USA and Cameron believes the experience of growing up on his own in Europe will stand him in good stead for the rest of his career.
"He's growing as a player, growing as an individual, growing into an adult," Cameron said.
"When you live in Europe and you have that experience and you're living on your own for a long time, it changes you as a person. You're surviving on your own and it makes you grow up a little bit faster."
