Stoke keeper Jack Butland pushing for start

Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland is pushing for a start.

Butland was back in the Stoke squad last time out for the first time since March 2016 and he can't wait to pull on his gloves again in the Premier League.

He told The Sentinel: "Everything's good, I'm feeling good and most importantly my ankle is feeling good. I'm happy with how it feels, in fact I'm not thinking about it. I'm training as freely as I was before and that's really pleasing. I can't wait for that first game.

"I was happy to be in the squad at the weekend, having that buzz of being involved on a match day and walking past the fans knowing that you're actually going to be doing something, not just sat in the stands watching.

"I got a good reception from everyone and the fans have been extremely positive with me during the whole process. It was nice to see them after all the support they've given me and the reception was really nice."
