Sunderland's Adnan Januzaj Expected to Return Ahead of Schedule From Ankle Injury

Sunderland's Adnan Januzaj is believed to be moving towards a return earlier than expected for the Black Cats, after an ankle injury sustained against Crystal Palace seemed setto have him sidelined until mid-November.

The on-loan Manchester United starlet is one of nine currently absent players for David Moyes' side, who are rooted at the bottom of the league with only two points from eight games.

Adnan is feeling much better and he doesn't think he will be out as long as we initially thought.Hopefully, we can get him back sooner, Moyes told theSun.

Rotten luck has seen many of Moyes' players vanish from the matchday squad momentarily, including several key talents.

We played QPR the other week in the EFL Cup and we had everybody fit, aside from Seb Larsson and Vito Mannone.

The other players were OK then but suddenly we are into the last couple of games and lost four or five players."

We will get the injured players back, though.

Jan Kirchhoff and Lee Cattermole are only the latest in the string of affected players, including Lamine Koné, Sebastian Larsson, Fabio Borini and Patrick Van Aanholt.

Moyes did not put an exact timeline for Januzaj's recovery, but there is no doubt that the manager needs some reinforcement before Sunderland's upcoming games.

On Saturday they travel to a West Ham side who are searching for momentum; in-form Arsenal and Bournemouth follow the Hammers.
