That's the only regret I have in my career, Larsson told the magazine.

I should have stayed [at Manchester United], as it would have meant I got a Premier League winner's medal, and I would have stayed for one more season. But I still had a contract with Helsingborgs and I feel that when you sign a contract, you have to see it out."

Larsson had joined the Red Devils in January of the 2006/07 season from Helsingborgs and was a crowd favourite, featuring on 13 occasions andscoring on his debut against Aston Villa as his team secured the title and reached the FA Cup final.

However despite his seven appearances on loan not being enough to earnhim to get his own medal, the two time Swedish player of the year was nothing but complimentary about his short stay at Old Trafford.

Everything was professional at Manchester United. When I had to attend a christening for my brother's children, the club ordered a plane to take me there after a match. United really take care of all their players.

Larsson has gone into management since retiring from playing in 2013, and left his most recent job at Helsingborgs, the city of his birth, in November after relegation to the Swedish second tier, when his son Jordan was confronted and attacked by fans.

As quoted by theGuardian, the former Feyenoord striker said after the incident: "I live and work here in town. I will look over my shoulder a little more and make sure not to walk alone in town.If they [hooligans] come, they come. We have many dogs at home.
