Ghanaian youngster, Emmanuel Essiam has been drafted into the Black Meteors squad for the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

The head coach of the Ghana U23 team, Coach Ibrahim Tanko in May announced a provisional 22-man squad to begin preparations for the U23 AFCON.

Because the European leagues were still ongoing, Coach Tanko’s squad was made up of only home-based clubs.

However, with the leagues abroad coming to an end last weekend, some players who are eligible to play for the Black Meteors are being drafted into the team.

The first player to join the Black Meteors squad from abroad is Emmanuel Essiam.

He has already reported to camp and has trained with his colleagues as part of the preparations for the U23 AFCON.

As confirmed by Black Meteors Management Committee chairman Frederick Acheampong, some u23 players from the Black Stars will be drafted into the Black Meteors team.

The likes of Kamaldeen Sulemana, Ernest Nuamah, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, and Ransford Yeboah are all expected to join the Black Meteors for the U23 AFCON in Morocco.
