Talent Tavern: Ghanaian youngster Justin Kumi scores brace for Sassuolo against Parma in Italy's youth division

A number of Ghanaian teenage footballers were in action over the weekend in Italy's youth divisions.

Amongst them are Philip Yeboah, (Hellas Verona) Ahmed Awua (Parma) and Salim Abubakar (Sassuolo) in the Primavera Championship. The U17 sides also featured Justin Kumi in a friendly match for Sassuolo.

Justin Kumi scored a brace for Sassuolo against Parma in a preparation match towards the resumption of Italy's U-17 youth division. The game ended 7-0 in favour of the Mapei side.

In the Primavera division Salim Abubakar made his debut for Sassuolo's U19 side after impressive performances in the 18 side last season. Salim made a cameo in the 60th minute of the game against Atalanta.

Philip Yeboah's Hellas Verona drew goalless at home against Brescia on Saturday. Yeboah played the entire duration of the game. He has contributed two goals and an assist in the last three matches.

Ahmed Awua featured for Parma's  U19 team in a 2-1 over Reggiana. Awua was deployed as an emergency centre back as result of injuries to key defenders in Parma's set up.

He played 89 minutes and scored a rating of 6 by Mondoprimavera.
