Out-of-contract Tamale City striker, Sampson Eduku has cited inadequate preparation for the club’s demotion from the Ghana Premier League.

The Tamale Citizens were unable to maintain their Premier League status after just a season in the top-flight.

The Tamale-based club finished 16th last season with 42 points after 34 games.

In an interview with Community FM monitored by Footballghana.com, Eduku, who is out of contract at Tamale City attributed the club’s relegation to inadequate preparation.

“We didn’t have a good preparation before the start of the season looking at how we qualified to the GPL. Truth be told, our preparation towards the season was inadequate”

“We had a short period preparation for the season and also had limited time to make purchases. The team was unable to sign more players especially the experienced ones. I think inexperienced caused us a lot because most of our players were young. I believe other teams prepared well as compared to Tamale City” he said.

The forward bagged 14 goals in the just-ended season and has emerged as transfer target for several clubs due to his swashbuckling performance.

Samspon Eduku has previously played for Elmina Sharks, Sekondi Hasaacas, Samartex, Karela United and Guinea club, Club Industrielle de Kamasar.
