Ghanaian forward Nico Williams has stated that getting three points against Elche in Sunday's La Liga tie was the 'most important' thing.

Williams scored his first Spanish top-flight goal as Athletic Bilbao won 4-1 victory at Estadio Martinez Valero.

The 20-year-old put up an impressive display before he was subbed off for Oier Zarraga four minutes after the hour mark.

"It means a lot to me with so many people who have come to see us. We are happy with the three points."

"They tell me to make that play, to go inside. Today De Marcos told me to do it and it came out perfectly", he told LaLiga TV.

"The important thing is the three points and the joy we have given to the fans who have traveled. It has been a very nice moment and we must always play like this away from home," he added.

Williams has made five appearances for Athletic Bilbao this season, scored one goal and provided two assists.
