Samuel Kuffour's transfer price, according to Alhaji Karim Grusah, is still the highest sum he has ever earned from player sales.

Before landing his dream transfer to Italian club Torino in 1991, Kuffour played as a teenager for King Faisal of the Ghana Premier League.

The former Black Stars defender played for Torino for two years before being acquired by Bayern Munich in the summer of 2003.

Speaking to Dan Kwaku Yeboah the Black Stars management member said

“Italian 1991, Sammy Kuffuor [was my biggest sale], he was going to Torino. For Mallam Yahaya and Edu couldn’t get to his level, they were sold for $60,000 but it wasn’t only my money, there was an agency, African Football Agency who also benefited,”

Kuffour appeared with the Ghanaian national team in the 2006 World Cup, as well as in five Africa Cup of Nations.
