Things change in the blink of an eye in football. The Football Whispers Index takes the latest transfer rumours and gives them a score out of five; the higher the score, the more realistic and reliable the whisper.

Here are today's top five emerging whispers. And keep an eye on Transfer Talk for all the latest gossip.

Andy Yiadom to West Brom

West Brom are interested in signing highly rated Barnsley right-back Yiadom. The £2.5 million-rated defender has impressed for the Championship club and Tony Pulis is keen to sign him as competition for Allan Nyom and Craig Dawson. The Premier League side's technical director, Nicky Hammond, was in attendance as Barnsley beat Burton Albion 4-2 on Tuesday night. Yiadom, 25, has rejected a new deal at Oakwell and looks set to move, but Albion may face competition from Swansea and Huddersfield.

Kieran Tierney to Tottenham

Spurs have joined the race to sign Manchester United target Tierney from Celtic. The 20-year-old left-back has been in exceptional form for Brendan Rodgers' side, and enhanced his reputation as a rising star with an eye-catching display in the 2-1 defeat to Bayern Munich this week. Tierney has just signed a new six-year contract at Celtic Park but that is unlikely to deter Premier League clubs from launching a bid. Mauricio Pochettino is believed to be in the market for a left-back with Danny Rose's long-term future at the club still uncertain.

Islam Slimani to Crystal Palace

Struggling Crystal Palace want to offer Leicester City striker Slimani a Premier League lifeline. The Algerian centre-forward has grown frustrated at a lack of opportunities at the King Power and Roy Hodgson, keen to bolster his striking options, is poised to bid. Slimani has been used mainly as a substitute this season and was left on the bench by Claude Puel during the Foxes' 2-0 win over Everton on Sunday, leaving the 29-year-old seriously considering a move away.

Timo Werner to Barcelona

RB Leipzig striker Werner has emerged as a key Barcelona target. The La Liga giants' technical director, Robert Fernandez, has been monitoring the Germany international's progress closely and has identified him as a long-term replacement for Luis Suarez. Werner scored 21 goals in the Bundesliga last season and has continued his fine form, with five goals and an assist in eight league outings this season. The 21-year-old has also attracted interest from Bayern Munich.

Papa Alioune Ndiaye to West Ham

West Ham are one of several clubs to have scouted Galatasaray's Ndiaye. The 27-year-old has established himself as one of the hottest properties in Turkish football and is said to be available for around £6.6m. While the Hammers are keen on the powerful midfielder, other Premier League suitors, including Newcastle and Tottenham, are keen to steal a march on the East London club. West Ham were in talks to sign "Badou" from Osmanlispor in the summer and Slaven Bilic is keen to revive interest in January following a poor start to the season.
