UCL qualifiers: Ghanaian winger Samuel Tetteh impress as LASK Linz defeat Basel 2-1

Ghanaian attacker Samuel Tetteh impressed for his Austria-based club LASK Linz to help them defeat FC Basel 2-1 in the UEFA Champions League qualifying round on Wednesday evening at the St. Jakob Park in Switzerland.

The exciting winger in on loan from Red Bull Salzburg and has started off the ongoing season in Austria in fine form. Called upon to feature for his club, the player put up another stellar performance to steer his team to victory.

Following an edgy first half encounter that ended in a goalless draw, both teams resumed the second half with more purpose in hopes of seeing off the other to pick up what will be an important victory.

LASK Linz stunned the home side just five minutes into the second half after defender Gernot Trauner turned in a Peter Michorl assist.

Late into the match, Samuel Tetteh assisted Jaoa Klauss De Mello to score the second goal for the Austria-based club to put them in a comfortable lead.

With just five minutes to end proceedings, the home side pulled one back through a good goal from Luca Zuffi.

Samuel Tetteh played the entire 90 minutes and will be key for his side when they host Basel at the Linzer Stadion next week.
