VIDEO: Arsenal Midfielder Mesut Ozil Picks His Ultimate XI From Career Teammates and It's Ridiculous

Published on: 09 March 2017

Mesut Ozil has enjoyed a successful career, despite not quite hitting his normal heights this season.

The 28-year-old has picked up silverware at Real Madrid and Arsenal, and also won the 2014 World Cup with Germany. Ozil has undeniably played with some exceptional players, so his perfect XI made up from teammates willalways be a strong team.

Ozil did exactly that in a promotional video forPES 2017, and there are not many areas for improvement.

Ozil opted for Manuel Neuer in goal in a relatively straightforward pick, although he has also played alongside Petr Cech and Iker Casillas. Hector Bellerin is possibly the only debatable inclusion, especially given that Ozil played alongside Philipp Lahm during Germany's World Cup win.

Sergio Ramos and Jerome Boateng are included in other easy selections, while Marcelo also features. The midfield comprises of Luka Modric, Ozil himself and Ilkay Gundogan, with the likes of Toni Kroos and Bastian Schweinsteiger omitted.

Ozil has also played alongside forward Thomas Muller and Angel Di Maria, but neither the Bayern Munich or PSG stars make it into Ozil's forward line. Karim Benzema takes the striker role with Alexis Sanchez and Cristiano Ronaldo supporting from the flanks.

Ozil could certainly do with a few of his former teammates given Arsenal's current dip in form, but the Gunners are expected to return to winning ways this weekend when they take on Lincoln City in the FA Cup.
