Ghana international Grejohn Kyei was on target for RC Lens as they defeated AJ Auxurre 2-0 in the French Ligue 2 on Saturday.

Kyei climbed off the bench to score a beautiful overhead kick inside the box in the 78th minute to double the lead.

RC Lens took a deserving lead through Yannick Gomis strike in the 38th minute with an artful penalty strike.

With the Auxerre probing for the equalizer in the second half, coach Philippe Montanier countered their high-pressing formation with an attacking substitution as he brought on Kyei as a replacement for Chouiar Mounir in the 73rd minute.

The substitution worked to perfection as Lens managed to control the game from that point until Kyei sealed the victory with a smart finish on the 78th minute.

The win has propelled Lens to the 4th spot on the standings with 48 points after 28 matches.

The 23-year-old has made 17 league appearances and scored 4 goals since joining on loan in the summer from Ligue 1 side Stade.
