Legon Cities FC displayed outstanding fighting spirit on Friday evening as they came from behind to defeat Ashanti Gold SC 5-2 in the Ghana Premier League.

The Royal club on the day hosted the Matchday 10 opponent at the Accra Sports Stadium determined to pick up the maximum points to push their agenda to climb out of the relegation zone.

Unfortunately for the home team, they had a slow start to the match and conceded after seven minutes of the game. In-form attacker Yaw Annor capitalized in a blunder from goalkeeper Dauda Fatau to shoot Ashanti Gold SC into the lead.

Celebrations from the away team could however not last with Nasiru Moro finding the back of the net four minutes later to draw level for Legon Cities FC.

In the pulsating encounter that ensued from there on, goals from Yaw Annor and Jonah Attuquaye cancelled out to ensure both teams went into the break on level pegging.

After the recess, a delightful performance from Legon Cities FC saw the team score three times to earn the maximum points.

An equalizer from Baba Mahama plus a brace from David Cudjoe sealed the sensational 5-2 win for the Royals at the end of the match.
