The Original Ronaldoâ„¢ was apparently spotted in a Rio de JaneiroMcDonald'sthis week, where the former Real Madrid and Inter Milan star posed for selfies and appeared to try to pilfer chips from other patrons, as reported onGlobo Esporte.

The 40-year-old, who scored 62 times for Brazil and won the World Cup in 2002, surprised greasy food-enthusiasts by stopping by for a late night/early morning snack.

Here's the evidence of Ronaldo moving quicker than he has since his Madrid days by making a dashfor the fries:

The grainy video footage (of what could just be a large man)was backed up on Twitter by one customer, who managed to geta selfie with the former superstar- presumably in return for a share of his chips.

Qual a chance de trombar o @Ronaldo no McDonalds 3 da manhã de uma segunda? 😂😂😂🔥🔥🔥😂😂 pic.twitter.com/2HK0Fbcm60

Fernando Ribeiro wrote (loosely translated): "what are the odds of bumping into Ronaldo at 3 a.m ?"

Big Ron, who retired from playing 2011,does have history with the golden arches. While, its anurban myth he was named after the restaurant's clown mascot (it was actually for US President Ronald Reagan), he did appear in a promotional video for the chain earlier this year.

While it's hard to imagine his namesake and current Ballon d'Or holder being spotted in similar position, o Fenomeno isn't the weirdest person to turn up in a Maccy's advert...
