Ghanaian international Mubarak Wakaso is still a doubt for Deportivo Alaves’ upcoming fixture against Real Valladolid this weekend despite successful surgery on his fractured hand.

The Black Stars midfield dynamo sustained an injury during his clubs 4-2 defeat to Osasuna last Sunday.

He subsequently had successful surgery to correct the fracture on his right hand on Tuesday in a bid to get him ready for action in the Spanish La Liga this Saturday.

Though he returns to training today with his teammates, he still remains a doubt for the fixture against Real Valladolid.

The medical team will need to keep an eye on the midfielder and ensure that he is relieved of all the pain in his hand before he will be cleared for action in the upcoming match day.

Meanwhile, Alaves manager Asier Geratino could choose either Tomás Pina or Manu to replace the hardworking midfielder if he does not fully recover from the hand injury in time for the game.
