Wales midfielder Andy King has revealed that the dressing room gave Ben Woodburn the confidence to shine on his debut.
Woodburn marked his dream debut for the Welsh national team by scoring the winner in the 1-0 victory over Austria recently and King has revealed how the squad gave the 17-year-old the confidence to flourish during his bow for the Dragons.
King revealed: "We all gave him a round of applause in there when we got to the dressing room and he is obviously delighted – and so he should be.
"He needs to savour that moment. Things move on quickly in football but that is something he will always definitely remember. It was an outstanding goal but not only was it brilliant but the significance of it as well was really important for us.
"It's a bit of a fairytale, unbelievable really. It was a great strike but not only that , it was the way he came into a tight game but he was composed on the ball and managed to find space. It was full credit to him and everyone in there was buzzing for him."
