This summer Atletico chose to leave the crumbling Vicente Calderon, their home since 1966, and redeveloped the city's former La Peineta athletics stadium into a modern 67,000 seater. Many of the club's fans and many neutrals have been impressed by photos and videos on social media showing the finishing touches to the work.
