Ghana head coach, CK Akonnor has stressed that he is confident the Black Stars will advance from Group C of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament with good planning and a potent strategy.
Last Tuesday, the Black Stars were pitted in Group C at the end of the official draw for next year’s AFCON.
In the Group, Ghana will face Algeria as well as Gabon and debutants Comoros.
Engaging the Ghanaian media in a brief session on Zoom on Friday, Black Stars coach CK Akonnor has expressed optimism in the chances of his team progressing to the knockout phase of the tournament.
“It [the draw] went well. We see it as a very good group. A group that if we plan very well, we strategize, we should be able to go through.
“Everything went well. We now just have to prepare and when the day comes we will deliver,” coach Akonnor said.
Ghana will kick off the campaign at the 2021 AFCON in a tough clash against Morocco on Monday, January 10, 2022.
