We could have beaten Niger 25-0, Mercy Tagoe reveals

WAFU winning Coach of the Black Queens Mercy Tagoe has made interesting revelation insisting her team could have beaten Niger 25-0 at the competition.

The Black Queens thrashed Niger 9-0 in the second game of the WAFU Cup of nations before going on to thrash Burkina Faso and qualify for the semis.

The Coach who returned with the team on Monday, told Zylofon FM exclusively her team could have beaten Niger 25-0 if they were patient in front of goal.

“We could have beaten Niger 25-0,” she told Sintim Koree- Charles Kele.

“The girls were in a rush in front of goal. Following our defeat in the first game, we were eager to win heavily,” she added.

“Meanwhile, whiles we were beating Niger, we had our eye on the Burkina Faso versus Cote D’Ivoire game.”

Mercy Tagoe lead the team to success after beating host Ivory Coast in the final 1-0 on Saturday.

Ghana will host the Africa Women Championship later this year.
