In a tightly contested match on match day nine at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium, Hearts of Oak faced off against Karela United, resulting in a 1-1 draw.
Emmanuel Boakye Owusu gave Karela United the lead in the 10th minute. Hamza Issah scored in the 40th minute to save his team from defeat.
Coach Martin Koopman of Hearts of Oak openly admitted that his team didn't commence the game as strongly as he had hoped, citing areas for improvement.
"It was a tough game from both sides we start not so good because 1-0 behind and I think in the second half we picked it up we got a little more fighting spirit he said after the game.
"You can play nice football but you must also have fighting spirit the second half was okay at the end 1-1.
"You can also have a penalty but I don't talk about referees so 1-1 not losing next game we must win,"
