Medeama midfielder Godfred Abban says he knew from the onset that his outfit will beat Hearts of Oak to amass the three maximum points in the game.

The 22-year-old exhibited an outstanding performance to help his outfit silence struggling Hearts of Oak at the Akoon Community Park on Wednesday.

Abban fired home from long range to help Medeama seal a 2-0 win over the Phobians in the week 25 fixture of the Ghana Premier League.

The Yellow and Mauves are currently sixth on the domestic top-flight table with 36 points after 25 matches, with nine games to end the season.

Speaking after the game, Abban indicated he knew his side were going to triumph over Hearts of Oak in the much-anticipated clash.

“It was a nice game. The game was definitely going to be difficult because of the caliber of the teams involved but we knew we would win against Hearts of Oak. We lost two goals in a row and needed to respond well especially playing at home. We were very optimistic of a win” he said.

Medeama will host Legon Cities in matchday 26 of the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.
