We made a good choice in bringing young players to camp – Ghana coach Otto Addo

Head coach of the Black Stars, Otto Addo has eulogized the output of young players in the team ahead of the Uganda friendly.

The Black Stars will lock horns with the Cranes of Uganda at the Grande de Stade Marrakech, Morocco at 4pm today.

Otto Addo, who made a return to the Black Stars for a second spell handed invite to young players like Ibrahim Osman, Francis Abu and others following their exploits at club level.

And the outgoing Talent Development coach of Borussia Dortmund appeared to be impressed with these players, saying the technical team made a good choice to hand young players call ups.

Assessing attitude of players training in rain, he said, “Not really impressed but may be surprised a little bit. I didn't expect this, especially with the young players play at a high level, really, really good. I think we made a good choice in bringing them into the camp”

“We are already preparing for the future and this is really, really good to see that the young guys coming up are knocking on the door to enter the national team. The players who have been there for a longer time have to be aware because the young guys are hungry, they are good, they are developing and like I said this what will make us all better”

With Ghana leading the head-to-head record 7-3, Addo's side aims to maintain their dominance over Uganda. Their most recent encounter in October 2017 ended in a goalless draw during the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
