Nations FC defender Razak Simpson has revealed that he and his colleagues were determined to beat Asante Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League matchday 23 clash.

The Premier League debutants prevailed with a narrow win over the Ghanaian giants at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday, extending Kotoko’s losing streak to four games.

Forward Asamoah Boateng Afriyie headed home the decisive goal, marking his 10th of the season and solidifying his position as the league's top scorer.

Speaking after the game, Simpson, who emerged as the man of the match expressed he and his teammates were poised to secure maximum points over Kotoko.

“We were determined to win this game. it’s not easy playing against a great club like Asante Kotoko but we were determined to win and of course, I’m feeling the vibe now”

“After taking the lead, our coach asked us to stay discipline throughout the game. I’m happy to win the man of the man, and I will keep on working hard and see what happens at the end of the season”

Simpson has been an integral member of the Nations FC squad, making 20 appearances and providing an assists as a defender.

The Premier League debutants has become a force to reckon in the domestic top-flight and are now contenders for the title.

With 40 points, Nations FC find themselves second on the league standings after 23 matches, two points behind leaders, Samartex.
