We will not tolerate bad pitches - GFA Club Licensing manager Julius Ben Emunah to clubs

In a stern warning to all football clubs, Ghana Football Association's Club Licensing manager, Julius Ben Emunah, has made it unequivocally clear that there will be zero tolerance for subpar pitches in the upcoming 2023/24 season.

As teams prepare for the new season, Emunah has underscored the importance of maintaining high standards and ensuring pitches meet the necessary criteria.

With the intention of elevating the overall quality of the game, Emunah's uncompromising stance leaves no room for leniency as clubs face potential consequences for failing to comply.

Last season the Ghana Football Association was slammed by football fans and pundits for failing to ensure that pitches at match venues are top quality.

"Pitch quality is zero tolerance for us it has to be quality. Artificial or natural it must be quality. Inner perimeter fencing and tunnel connecting to a befitting dressing room that can accommodate more than 30 people with the necessary furnishings" he told TV3.

"Of course the venue should also have washrooms and a dedicated place for referees,"
