West Brom Boss Tony Pulis Keen on Quick Return for Attacking Duo After Fitness Problems

Saido Berahino is reportedly nearing a Premier League return, after being sent to France toimprove his fitnessby his West Brom managerTony Pulis.


The 23-year-old had been put on a personal weight loss programme last month, but is now nearing optimum fitness levels and could make a return to actionas early as this weekend, according to Sky Sports.

Now back at the club, Berahino will be aiming to return to the starting XI, where he has not appeared since the 1-0 defeat away to Bournemouth on September 10.


Pulis revealed at his press conference on Thursday that he was keen to get the player back involved with theclub's bid to break into the top half of the table.

"I had a good chat with Saido yesterday, he looks brighter and sharper. Fitness-wise we're pleased, he's getting there. The next step is to get him some games, which we'll try and do over the next two weeks." The former Stoke boss said.


"He's trainedwell this weekbut he needs games. We'll take every game as it comes. He's looked sharper, mentally a lot clearer, and let's hope he stays that way."


The Burundi-born former England U21 starremains a Baggies player, despite numerous occasions where it looked like a move away from the Hawthorns was nailed-on.

The player has been subject to bids from Tottenham Hotspur, Stoke City and Crystal Palacein the last couple of years.


After three bids from Spurs were rejected by Albionin the 2015/16 season, Berahino infamously tweeted that he would never player for then-chairman Jeremy Peace ever again.


In addition to the reintroduction of Berahino, the Baggiesalso expect top scorerSalomon Rondon to be available for selection against Burnley on Monday.

The Venezuelan international missed the World Cup qualifiers against Bolivia and Ecuador, after West Brom pulled him out over a hamstring strain.


Rondon, who started in the latest leaguewin over Leicester City, had been undergoing treatment but is reportedly in good shape to face the Clarets.


West Brom lie 11th in the Premier League table and will behoping Rondon can find the back of the net and end agoals drought offive league games. With Berahino nearing a return, Rondon may needto break his duckto maintain his status as first choice striker.
