West Brom Manager Tony Pulis Hints at Surprise Summer Move for Chelsea Captain John Terry

West Brom manager Tony Pulis has admitted that he would be interested in signing Chelsea captain John Terry this summer, should the defender leave Stamford Bridge and become a free agent.

Terry has struggled for game time this season and with his contract set to expire in June, it is widely expected that his 19-year spell at Chelsea will come to an end.

The 36-year-old has long suggested that he would not consider playing for another Premier League side other than his beloved Blues, but though he is understood to be completing his UEFA coaching badges, the centre-back has yet to reveal what he will do should he fail to earn a new contract with Chelsea.

As speculation grows about his immediate future, it appearsTerry could receive an unlikely offer to extend his playing career at West Brom, after the Baggies'manager admitted the club were interested in the former England international, should he be available in the summer.

Pulis toldSky Sports:"I've always thought he was a good player.

"It (January's enquiry) was just finding out what the situation was and then it was whether we moved on it or we didn't.

"There was no approach made, it was just finding out what the situation was, and the situation was that John wanted to stay at Chelsea.

"I think he wanted to be there and stay there and be part of going out as a champion.

"If he becomes available in the summer we'll sit down then and have a little think about what we've got and what we haven't got and then we'll take it from there.

"That is for the summer, not now, and whether the situation changes, or whether other people are involved, or whether he signs another contract at Chelsea.

"We'll have to wait and see."
