West Ham Boss Slaven Bilic Disappointed With Bob Bradley's Early Exit

Published on: 28 December 2016

West Ham manager Slaven Bilic believes Swansea gave little chance for Bob Bradley to turn things aroundfollowing the quick dismissal on Tuesday.

Monday's 4-1 Boxing Day thumping at the Liberty Stadium proved to be the final nail in the coffin for the first American boss to take charge of a Premier League side.

After only 85 days at the helm, the Swans' endured a disappointing seven defeats in 11 games since Bradley took over on 3 October.

Slaven Bilic, who knows all too about well the pressure that modern day managers' face, was in sympathetic mood to his fellow counterpart having also struggled at the bottom end of the table for large parts of the season.

When asked if Bradley was given a fair chance, talking toBT Sport, Bilicsaid:No, he didn't. It was just a short space of time. You basically depend on luck, people are expecting you to do something in a couple of months and that's not with the pre-season. You have a game in two days then you have another in five days.

SB: "The confidence is back with the points we are taking and we don't want it to stop. We have to continue to play like this.

He didn't have any chance, to be fair, apart from the fact that he won a few games. But I'm not a fan of that kind of culture towards the managers. I feel for all of the managers, I know he is a good manager, he's got a good CV, he's hard-working and then he believes in himself.I saw them (Swansea) play with confidence which is hard to maintain when you are down.

The West Ham bossalso revealed that afterspeaking to Bob Bradley during their Boxing day win, Biliccould see Bradley's tenure was effectively untenable, which includeda section of the Swansea crowd chanting we want Bradley out last Monday.

I wasn't shocked (by the decision), the 48-year-old added. We spoke after game in his office and of course his whole life is in football. He was not shocked but disappointed and so was I.

Unlike the ex-Swansea Boss, three successive wins have seen Bilic's side climb up to 11th in the table and the pressure taken off his shoulders. West Ham will to look to continue their impressive run of wins in December in their New Year's Eve encounter with Premier League Champions Leicester City, another team struggling to find form in the league.
