West Ham eager to sign Sunderland defender Lamine Kone

West Ham are eager to make Sunderland defender Lamine Kone their fifth summer signing.

Sunderland are understood to want up to £20million for their 28-year-old centre-back.

But the Hammers believe a deal could be agreed at just over half that for a player controversially pinpointed by team-mate Darron Gibson as no longer wanting to play for the Black Cats, says the Mirror.

Everton, Burnley and West Brom have also had an interest in Kone.
