West Ham Send Mistake-Ridden Good Luck Message to Andre Ayew

Published on: 04 November 2016

West Ham's joint chairman David Goldissued a good luck message to Andre Ayew ahead of West Ham's match against Stoke City, which unfortunately contained a schoolboy error in its Twitter caption.

Before the Hammers' 1-1 draw with Mark Hughes's side at the London Stadium, West Hamwished Ayew good luck 'on his full Premier League debut' with a Tweet.

A video was alsoattached of Gold shaking hands with a number of Hammers' players, and he can be heard wishing Ayew good luck as he emerges from the tunnel to warm up ahead of the Stoke clash.

But, as an eagle-eyed observer pointed out on Twitter, the message contained quite an elementary mistake.

Wait, didn't he start at Chelsea? pic.twitter.com/zNHNVGaLqL

Yes, he did. Ayew's full Premier League debut for the club came in August against Chelsea, the game in which he picked up the injury that has kept him out of action until this weekend.

So, not only has Ayew made his full league debut for West Ham already, but he made it a full three months ago.
