What happens to the dissolved Kotoko Management?

Published on: 10 June 2020

The deed has been done. Dr. Kwame Kyei and his new board have sent the current management of the Kumasi-based side packing in a potential series of changes expected to happen in the future.

The shocking move was confirmed by former PRO, Kennedy Boakye Ansah on Vision 1 FM.

"Yes I am now a former PRO of Asante Kotoko. Dr Kyei met us today and told us about the new board [decision]. We were not told to re-apply, Dr Kyei only said he will call us when he needs us."

In the above quote, re-application was taken off the table by the current Executive Chairman of the club. His next move will be appointment of new management, the same decision he made in August 2015. The question is; what will be the fate of the unfortunate casualties?

According to Silver FM, George Amoako, the now former CEO of the club may be called back into action but will perform a smaller role as the Accra Representative. Edmund Ackah previously occupied the role but tendered his resignation in March this year.

The likes of Boakye Ansah, Gyambebi Coker and others are yet to know their stance. The future looks bleak for all including Amoako, albeit there are reports of him getting a role.

The bow and arrow has been placed in the hands of Dr. Kwame Kyei and at this point, only he and the rest of the nine member board know the targets. The anticipation will be high in the coming days.
