William Denkyi requests to leave Hearts of Oak - Opare Addo

Published on: 08 September 2020

Communications Director of Hearts of Oak, Kwame Opare Addo has disclosed that William Denkyi has requested to leave the club due to lack of playing time.

The 20-year-old felt sidelined after spending most of the time watching proceedings from the bench in the truncated 2019/20 Ghana Premier League season, which resulted in the demand of a transfer from the club.

Impressive performances from Congolese Rady Ovouka kept the former Liberty Professionals player on the bench as he made a handful of appearances.

"William Denkyi has written to us that he wants to move because he's not getting playing time," Opare Addo said.

Denkyi was part of the 2019 Black Satellite squad that failed to secure gold in Egypt.

Meanwhile, Hearts are reportedly eyeing a move for ex-Asante Kotoko defender Eric Donkor who has mutually parted ways with Ashanti Gold SC after a two-year stay with the club.
