William Opoku Mensah happy to complete dream move to Asante Kotoko

William Opoku Mensah has expressed his excitement after competing his dream move to Asante Kotoko on transfer deadline day. 

Mensah penned a deal with the Porcupine Warriors with the option of a further extension upon return to Ghana after an unsuccessful stint in the United States with Swope Park Rangers.

After putting pen to paper, the former Karela United forward told Kotoko Express, "I grew up hearing the name of former Kotoko greats like Opoku Nti, Dogo Moro, Baba Yara and Nana Arhin Duah.

"It has been my desire for many years to join this club and wear the famous Red jersey. I promise to give 100% and ask that the fans support me."

On William Opoku Mensah, coach Maxwell Konadu said, "We know him already so he is not a player we are going to try. Per the options available to us, I think he is the best that is why we picked him ahead of the others."

He scored seven (7) goals in his 14 appearances for Karela United FC during the first round of the truncated 2018 Ghana Premier League season.

Mensah scored a 19-minute hat trick against Hearts of Oak in April during the truncated 2018 Ghana Premier League season.
