Richard Ofori has admitted that winning the Ghana Premier League with Wa All Stars was challenging.

Wa All Stars were crowned champions of the Ghana Premier League for the first time in their history during the 2015/16 season.

Enos Adepa steered the side to pip Aduana Stars to lift the ultimate.

Recounting how the won the Premier League title, Ofori, who now plays for South African side, Orlando Pirates revealed that it was hectic.

According to him, they had to sometimes travel over 14 hours to play a game.

“Wa All-Stars were based in the north of Ghana. Sometimes we would play midweek and then again on Sunday, so you travelled between 10 to 14 hours to games," he told sowetanlive.co.za in an interview.

"It was challenging. But we managed to play well and keep the team moving forward to still win the league. We went through a lot as a team to win that year," he added.

Wa All Stars remain the only side from the Northern Region of Ghana to win the Ghana Premier League.

However, the club is now known as Legon Cities.
