World Cup 2022: Charlton Athletic goalkeeper Jojo Wollacot expected to join Black Stars camp on Monday

Ghana international Jojo Wollacot is expected to join the Black Stars camp on Monday, Charlton Athletic boss Ben Garner has confirmed.

Wollacot, who joined the English League One side in the summer has established himself as a key cog to the side.

The goalkeeper was named in the Black Stars provisional squad list for the 2022 World Cup and is expected to make the final squad which will be released on Monday, November 14.

According to the trainer, his goalkeeper will most likely join the national team on Monday to continue preparation for the mundial.

Ghana coach Otto Addo will name his final squad for the biggest soccer mundial to be staged in the Asian country next week.

“There was a provisional squad that he was part of and we’re just waiting for confirmation of their final squad,” said Garner.

“My understanding is that he will meet up a week Monday. “We haven’t had that definitely confirmed yet, but that is my understanding.”

Wollacott has been instrumental for the club in the 2022/23 season since joining them in the summer transfer window.

Ghana has been housed in Group H against Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea.

The West African powerhouse will open their World Cup account against Portugal before taking Uruguay and South Korea respectively.

The biggest soccer mundial has been scheduled for November and December this year, with 32 countries set to battle it out for the covetous trophy in Qatar.
