Former head coach of Spain, Luis Enrique has lauded the performance of Morocco after reaching the semi-finals of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The Atlas Lions stunned stunned Spain in the Round of 16 and secure a 1-0 win over Portugal in the quarter-final at Al Thumama Stadium to become the first African country to progress to the last four.

Morocco will face holders France in the semifinals at Al Bayt Stadium on Wednesday.

"Of course, no one will be surprised if Morocco reaches the final. It will be crazy, but it's worth it. If I had to choose, I hope Argentina wins because of what Messi means to football," Luis Enrique said.

"Amrabat is at a distinguished level. Morocco has 4 players at an amazing level. Ziyech is good, and player No. 8 (Ezzedine Onahi). I do not remember his name, and we know him clearly."

A win over France will see Morocco become the first-ever African country to reach the final of the World Cup.
