Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo is confident the Black Stars will secure qualification to the knockout phase of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The Black Stars earned an important 3-2 win against South Korea to boost their chances of progressing to the round of 16.

The four-time African champions must avoid defeat against Uruguay to book a spot in the Round of 16.

Ahead of the clash, the Bristol City attacker has expressed optimism about securing qualification to the knockout phase at the expense of Uruguay.

“We had confidence from the start but Portugal’s game was unfortunate but we knew we played really well, we’ve done everything right so what we need to do is to get more goals. I feel like confidence is high and we go with the same confidence to qualify” he said.

The Bristol City striker is expected to play a huge role for the Black Stars as they seek to book a place in the knockout phase.

Ghana will face Uruguay in their final group game on Friday at the Al Janoub Stadium with kick-off at 15:00GMT.
