France forward Antoine Griezmann has lauded Morocco for giving everything in their semi-final defeat at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The Atlas Lions made history becoming the first African side to reach the semifinals of a FIFA World Cup, following their 1-0 win over Portugal at the quarter finals but they fell short against holders.
France took an early lead through Theo Hernandez’s scrambled fifth minute goal before substitute Kolo Muani made it 2-0 in the 79th minute to ensure they will defend their crown against Argentina and Lionel Messi at Lusail Stadium on Sunday.
"Morocco impressed me tonight, they set up very well tactically and defensively. In the second half they created a lot of opportunities," Griezmann said.
"Scoring an early goal made things easier for us as well and the second goal made it more comfortable for us. It's a tough game that came down to small details. We're going to try and learn from this."
