World Cup 2022: The focus is on Uruguay now - Ghana midfielder Mohammed Kudus speaks after South Korea win

Published on: 28 November 2022

Ghana midfielder Mohammed Kudus says his side have switched their attention to their last group game against Uruguay on Friday at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The 22-year-old scored the match winner as Black Stars secured a hard fought 3-2 win over South Korea in their second group game at Education City Stadium on Monday afternoon.

Black Stars took a 2-0 lead courtesy of goals from Mohammed Salisu and Kudus but two stunning headers in three minutes from Cho Gue-sung levelled the game after 61 minutes. Kudus added a final twist when he thumped in a third for Ghana to break South Korea's hearts.

“We got the three points today and the focus is on Uruguay,” he said after he was awarded the Man of the Match.

“So we go in with the same mentality and the same attitude. I know everyone is up for it.”

Coach Otto Addo's side need a draw or a win to book their place in the round of 16.

Ghana are currently second in Group H with three points after two matches played so far.
