'You can always rely upon him to give you 100 per cent' - Crystal Palace coach Roy Hodgson lauds Jordan Ayew

Roy Hodgson believes Jordan Ayew is one the "best signings" Crystal Palace have ever made.

The 32-year-old, who has signed a new contract with the club until 2025, joined Palace initially on loan from Swansea in 2018 before making the deal permanent for £2.5m the following season.

The Ghana international has gone on to make more than 180 appearances for the Eagles, scoring 20 goals.

"He's got better and better," Palace boss Hodgson said.

"I think he's been one of the club's best signings because we had him for six months on loan and at the end of that we made the loan permanent for a relatively small sum of money, actually a very small sum of money by today's standards, and he's given five further years of quite incredible service.

"He certainly is one of the most reliable and consistent players that we have," he added.

Jordan Ayew over the weekend assisted Crystal Palace's 2-0 win against Burnley at Turf Moor.

The former Aston Villa striker will hope to continue his impressive performance when Palace host Everton at Selhurst Park on Saturday.
