Ghanaian attacker Zubairu Ibrahim has expressed his excitement for the country's U-23 national team, the Black Meteors, after they secured qualification to the 2023 U-23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

Although the former King Faisal forward did not feature in the team's win over Algeria at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, he took to Twitter to share his thoughts.

Ibrahim's tweet highlights the team's joy and relief at securing their place in the tournament, which will take place later this year in Morocco. The Black Meteors will be hoping to build on their success and also qualify for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

The team was led by FC Nordsjaelland forward Ernest Nuamah, who put in a standout performance in the win over Algeria.

Sporting CP Lisbon's Abdul Fatawu Issahaku scored the only goal in the reverse fixture, having also scored in the 1-1 draw in Algeria.
